PROJECT: Supporting Your Vision Workshop
Supporting Your Vision Workshop is a fast-growing, practical workshop, Donor Depot and its partner’s put on across the country. This workshop reaches out to the faith- based and nonprofit community with a focus on writing and executing an effective strategic plan (or fine tune your current one) with practical applications to develop, support and expand your organization. By better equipping nonprofits and churches with strategies, tools, and stabilizing resources in a more non-theoretical way we are able to more quickly help the nonprofit community to increase their return on impact.
IDENTIFIED NEEDS:
In pulling together this workshop, early on it was clear less was more. A good strategic plan is clear and concise. So we found the more focused the organizations vision and mission is the easier it is to tactically deploy their message to the world. Therefore we spend a lot of time up front helping the attendees refine their vision and mission so it is easier to deploy a clear (email, web & print) communication and event strategy.
WHAT WE DID:
Because we have found over the years every growing nonprofit is a learning organization this workshop is no different. We put together a full day Supporting Your Vision Workshop that addresses 9 critical phases to developing a strategic plan. Here is an overview of our one day session:
Session 1 (morning): Vision & Teamwork Vision: An aspirational description of what an organization would like to achieve or accomplish in the mid or long-term future. |
Session 2 (morning): Mission, Goals & Objectives Mission: A written declaration of an organization’s core purpose and focus that normally remains unchanged over time. Goals: The result or achievement toward which effort is directed; aim; end. Objectives: A specific result that a person or system aims to achieve within a time frame and with available resources. In general, objectives are more specific and easier to measure than goals. |
|
Session 3 (morning): Strategy & Tools Strategy: A plan of action or policy designed to achieve a major or overall aim; end. |
Session 4 (afternoon): Tactics Tactics: Done or for use in immediate support of a strategy. A tool, plan or procedure to promote a desired end. |
|
Session 5 (afternoon): Event Planning Event Planning: For the purpose of raising support for your organization |
Session 6 (afternoon): What's Next? The Clear Solution: Strategic Plan + Web Tools + Marketing & Fundraising Strategy = Success |
OUTCOME:
After attendees go through our Supporting Your Vision Workshop they quickly realize the importance of a unified web-framework to manage: content, media, sales, and donations in response to the execution of a clearly written strategic plan.
KEY SOLUTIONS:
Strategic Plan + Web Tools + Marketing & Fundraising Strategy = Success
